Air Force One news: On February 28, 1994, Captain Robert Wright - flying an F-16C Fighting Falcon with the 526th TFS “Black Knights”-— entered Bosnian airspace during Operation Deny Flight. Spotting a trio of Serbian J-21 Jastrebs, Wright fired two AIM-9Ms and an AIM-120 and took down all three enemy warplanes. His aircraft (nicknamed the “Triple-Jastreb-Killer”) was later painted with three green stars to commemorate his achievement. In celebration of Captain Wright’s feat, Air Force 1 has released this 1/100 scale, die cast replica of his F-16C Block 40G featuring historic markings (including victory marks), wing-mounted weaponry, a glazed canopy, and an all-metal display stand. Wings of the Great War: In addition to featuring the first military usage of fighter planes, World War I also saw a number of other aerial milestones - including the introduction of weaponized zeppelins, among them Germany’s LZ41. Draped in a “multi-colored cow” paint scheme, the aircraft was operated by the Imperial German Navy, taking its initial flight on June 7, 1915, and written off less than two years later, in April of 1917. During its short lifetime it completed 31 recon missions and twelve raids over England, dropping 15,543 kg worth of bombs. Hobby Master News: Two Cold War-era U.S. jets make up this offer, though both feature markings from international air forces. The F-5E Tiger II, first flown in the early 1970s and used by both American and South Vietnamese forces during the war, was a lengthened variant of the original F-5A Freedom Fighter. When the Communists overtook the south in 1975, however, a number of these aircraft were seized and sent to the USSR for evaluation - including this model featuring "Red 10" Soviet makings. Also, two F-4J Phantom IIs flown by the RAF’s No. 74 Squadron are also included, a warplane the unit received in the early 1980s as a stopgap measure to supplement losses recently suffered in the Falklands.
